Our Story
On a small island in the middle of the ocean called Aster Island, there lived people peacefully together with their families. But Aster Island was unlike any other island in the world. All the people there loved to learn and try new things to help them expand their knowledge and better understand the world around them.
One day, three naughty and kooky monsters arrived at the island and were amazed by its beautiful forests and crystal clear waters. They made a plan to take over the island and send away all the people there. To do so, they wanted to make their minds weaker so that they could control them easier!

Mr. Fuzz

Miss. Tiny

Mr. Wiggles
The monsters started to create problems for all the people every day, especially the children.
- Mr. Wiggles, the leader of the group, enjoyed creating havoc with his long, jiggly hands in the people’s houses and work.
- Mr. Fuzz, the second in command, usually stole precious things from people and stored them in his big, furry body.
- The last member was Miss Tiny. She was the size of a grape and the most mischievous of them all. She kept people confused all the time by mixing things up in secret.

What are we going to do?” Most people wondered and worried about this situation. The monsters were at every corner, ready to control their minds and complete their plan.
To stop the monsters, they needed to find a solution quickly. Some people traveled far and wide in search of a way to defeat the monsters. And one day, the answers finally came to them! On the tiny island of Singa, they met some brilliant Mathematical practitioners who could teach them all about Mathematics.
“The solution you are looking for is in front of you. Mathematics is your only tool to defeat the monsters by sharpening your mind and strengthening your problem solving skills! All the problems they create have a solution, and you can find it with the help of Math.” the Mathematical practitioners claimed. “The path will not be easy, and you need to complete 12 quests to beat the monsters for good.”, they continued.
The practitioners decided to follow them to Aster island and teach them how to master Critical Thinking (CT) and Higher Order Thinking skills that they used in Maths. With the help of Mathematics, people could gain and improve very important skills, such as critical thinking and problem-solving. They could also think logically and make better and more informed decisions so that no monster could ever fool them again.
Are you ready to take on the challenge and master the thinking skills required to defend yourself against the three monsters?
Practice and patience are important because, with every quest, the monsters become smarter too! They come up with more difficult problems that are harder to solve and confuse you to prevent you from solving them.
Sharpen your pencil and your mind, and get ready for the ride!
Once the monsters found about Peter’s plan to build the lodges, they got really afraid! If Peter succeeds, it will be hard to create problems effortlessly anymore. They had to think of something to prevent his plan. They stayed hidden for a while, observing the soldiers. Miss Tiny spotted the material the soldiers gathered to build the lodges. There were wooden pillars, nails, hammers and more. She immediately had an idea! When the soldiers finished their work for the day, they all returned to their houses. That was the perfect chance for the monsters. Miss Tiny told Mr. Fuzz to carefully remove some of the nails of each lodge and let gravity do the work. The next day, the soldiers arrived again. When they tried to enter the lodges, everything fell to the ground! Thankfully, no one got hurt, but it got Peter thinking. He calculated the ratio of nails to lodge and found that some were missing. It was definitely the work of monsters! He commanded the soldiers to create tents to stay all day and night in the lodges until they were complete. Can you help the soldiers build the triangular tents and find how many nails each lodge is missing? This is your ninth quest!

When Peter and the soldiers completed the lodges, it was Tessa’s turn to supply them with food and water. She devised a plan to transfer all the goods by using carriages. She fed all the horses and made sure they were all rested. She also arranged the boxes to fit nicely into the carriages, based on their volume and weight. This will help to maximise the space as much as possible. In the end, she knew the average boxes of each carriage and determined how many days they needed to complete their mission. When they got everything ready for their first transportation, the horses seemed really anxious. Tessa realized that something was wrong. The monsters have done it again! The carriage was too heavy for the horses. The monsters had messed up the arrangement of the boxes and made a total mess of the carriage. Can you help Tessa rearrange the boxes in the correct order and get the supplies to the lodges? This is your tenth quest!

When Gary told everyone about his idea of trapping the monsters, they all got really excited but didn’t know how to get started. Kelvin told them that there were some hidden areas on the island that weren't in the map. They could use these hidden areas to set up traps and catch the monsters by surprise and eventually capture them. But first, they had to determine the circumference of the circular traps. The circular traps when designed properly will be able to hold all the monsters inside. The Spartan warriors combined their knowledge, and with the help of the Mathematicians from Singa and with your help, they can succeed! The secret plan has just started! Can you help Gary and the citizens determine how many circular traps to create and the size of each circle? This is your eleventh quest!

The countdown has started for the monsters’ departure. Everyone on Aster island has been working together to create the perfect plan to send the monsters away. They shared all their ideas and proposals based on the information they gathered. They then analyzed the probabilities of success and evaluated every proposal. It was time to formulate the perfect plan. With the order of the King, Rena supported the plans wholeheartedly and provided the Spartan warriors with everything they needed. She gave them all the moves and patterns of the monsters to help them lay their traps. Let the chasing begin! Can you help Queen Rena calculate the monster’s moving speed and lead them into the traps? This is your twelfth and final quest! CONGRATULATIONS! The monsters have been captured with your help. You saved Aster Island and became a master in Mathematics! It is now the time to apply all your knowledge in your real life. We wish you the best of luck!

Shawn and his father love taking care of their beautiful farm, and one of the most important things is their animals. Their farm is always cheerful and lively, with chickens wandering around, a beautiful cow, two horses, and many sheep. Together, they provide the best care to the animals, and in turn, they get quality goods, such as eggs, milk, and wool. Shawn is responsible for the feed and medication of the animals, and he uses his knowledge in number bonds to keep track of everything they need in his inventory book. Mr. Wiggles found the perfect opportunity to mix things up again, and create serious trouble for Shawn. He first hid all the eggs and fruit inside the large wool balls. Then, he mixed up the different bottles of milk. His final act was to change all the information in Shawn’s inventory book! What could Shawn do? He created a list of things with all the information he needed to plan his day. First, he would pick out the eggs and fruits and organize them by shape. Then, he would rearrange the bottles of milk by size. Finally, he would correct all the numbers in his inventory book. Can you help Shawn fix the farm of chaos and give a lesson to Mr. Wiggles? This is your first quest!

After Andrea got into trouble because of Miss Tiny and Mr. Fuzz, she made sure to always carry an alarm clock with her to track time. She had many goals to meet and wanted to spend her time wisely on school and archery. Miss Tiny was determined not to leave her in peace and devised another plan with Mr. Wiggles. She sneaked into every clock Andrea had inside her home and with her and changed all the alarms she had set up! On the other hand, Mr. Wiggles found the picture graphs that Andrea was using to track her progress in archery. Andrea gained points each time she hit a different fruit with her bow. Mr. Wiggles mixed up her total points of each practice. The next day, one of Andrea’s alarm clocks started ringing. “Beep beep beep!”. Andrea woke up and started getting ready. Soon enough, she realized something odd. It was still midnight! She knew something was wrong. She checked all her alarm clocks and figured out Miss Tiny’s mischief. She couldn’t fall asleep and decided to review her picture graphs of her progress. But wait, these are not her real points! Can you help Andrea set up her alarm clocks right and fix her picture graphs? This is your second quest!

She was responsible for filling the large whiteboard that contained the shifts of the nurses and the operations every day. She used multiplication to calculate the number of nurses for each shift and she used division to organize their working hours and daily tasks. Mr. Wiggles took a visit to the hospital, curious to see what was inside. Once he came across the whiteboard, he was thrilled by its size and wanted to draw doodles all over it. He erased everything and started with a blank canvas! After some time, his work was done. He left the hospital happy and satisfied. Immediately, people approached the messy whiteboard, confused and worried. The whole hospital was in danger! Once Michelle arrived, she was shocked by the sight. Who could do such a thing? Can you help Amanda fill the whiteboard correctly and save the hospital? This is your third quest!

Marcus spends most of his time solving cases in his office at the investigation station and trying to find the ones responsible for each criminal activity. One day, he received many calls that something was happening in the playground. Many citizens of Aster island noticed that several item such as the swings, slides, and some monkey bars, were missing. Marcus went immediately to the playground to investigate. He noticed that the different items had one thing in common. They were all heavy, according to their mass. He decided to draw a map of the playground, with all the missing items and their past location, using 2D and 3D figures to write down what was really missing. Marcus was certain this was a job of two accomplices, Mr. Wiggles and Mr. Fuzz should not have been able to carry the heavy items but she could certainly think of such a naughty plan! Can you help Marcus create the playground’s map and find all the missing items? This is your fourth quest!

Sandy has tremendous love and passion for teaching. She puts a lot of thought and effort into her work and she makes sure she creates the best lessons for her students to understand any new information they learn and apply it in real life. To remind them of the importance of money and saving, she set up a piggy bank in the classroom and created a mission. Every Monday, Sandy would put a certain amount of money into the piggy bank, and when they reached their goal, the children could go on a day trip! The children were really excited and counted the money every Monday. They would also measure the weight of the piggy bank to understand the importance of measurement. But Miss Tiny had other plans, because of her small size, she sneaked inside the piggy bank and took some notes and coins. Mr. Wiggles then hid everything in the classroom with his jiggly hands. Once the children arrived at school on Monday, they started with their favorite task. With the help of their scale, they all measured the piggy bank’s weight. Everyone was shocked when they found out the piggy bank had lost half of its weight! Some of the children also noticed there were coins and notes in different places, such as the board and under their desks. Can you help Sandy and the students find all the money and count the correct amount? This is your fifth quest!

The monsters were furious because of all the unsuccessful attempts to create problems for the citizens. Each time they thought of something, everyone worked together to fix it. Mr. Wiggles thought they needed to do something bigger to make the citizens of Aster Island leave. Mr. Fuzz searched his furry body well to come up with an idea. He found some brushes and paints, and his eyes sparked! When everyone went to the King’s party, the monsters found the opportunity to execute their plan. They drew on almost all the buildings on the island including the school, the hospital, Anthony’s shop, and many more. When the citizens returned home, they were surprised by the horrible paintings of the buildings! They all went to Anthony for some help to fix this problem. Anthony quickly found a solution, but they needed to work together again. When he created the shelves in his store, he understood the principles of Geometry and was certain that they would be useful in this case. He suggested creating ladders by placing the wood in perpendicular and parallel lines, and with the right angles, they could paint the buildings and make them brand new! Can you help Anthony build the ladders and find the perfect angles to place them for each building? This is your sixth quest!

Gloria arrived at the citizens’ houses to find large piles of clothes in front of their gardens. She wondered what was happening and upon closer inspection, she realised the clothes were full of holes! Everyone was worried and didn’t know what to do. But Gloria had the answer to their problems. She instantly spotted that the holes represented different geometric shapes, and an idea came to mind! Her mother taught her how to sew her own clothes from a very young age and reminded her that there is always a way to patch things up. She advised the citizens to grab a scissor, a needle, and some fabric and create geometrical shapes of cloth to make patches for the holes! A circle, a triangle, a square, any shape you can find. Can you help Gloria and the citizens patch their clothes and hide the holes? This is your seventh quest!
